Early Explorations in Tierrasanta is located in a wing of the Tierrasanta Baptist Church. (Early Explorations is not affiliated with the Tierrasanta Baptist Church.) Early Explorations opened their doors at this location in 1991 and provides a year-round program.

The primary goal at Early Explorations is to guide the child's natural curiosity by providing an environment she/he will find to be both exciting and caring. The curriculum is designed with the developmental needs of each age group in mind. Our teachers will help your child to playfully interact with a variety of learning materials, as well as with an equally exciting group of peers. Each of the six contained classrooms is equipped with several learning centers specifically designed and equipped for children 2 to 8 years old.

A flexible program is available to meet the needs of both parents and children:

  		•  Full day programs for children aged 2 years to 5 years (6:30A.M.-6:00P.M.)
    Snacks and Lunch Provided.
  		• Half-day programs (8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon) for children aged 2 1/2  years to 5 years, include lunch.
  		•  School Age programs 5 years to 8 years

    Parents may choose to have their child attend five, four, three or two days per week.

    Early Explorations' before and after SCHOOL AGE PROGRAM is for children who are in kindergarten through second grade. Transportation is provided to and from Kumeyaay and Vista Grande elementary schools. Children can enjoy a recreation program with their friends. Some f their time may be dedicated to doing regular school homework. A snack is available to the children when they arrive back at Early Explorations in the afternoon.

    SUMMER CAMP is offered for children who have completed kindergarten through second grade. Field trips, drama, science experiences, etc. are included in the program. The Summer Camp program offers many fun activities to be shared with friends in a safe and loving environment.

    Mary Hahn is the original director of the Tierrasanta Early Explorations preschool. She is the leader of a group of teachers who have been teaching at Early Explorations for many years. The preschool director works closely with the neighborhood schools so the children are ready for their next school experience.
